The Israel Parkinson Association (IPA) was founded in 1993 by a group of Parkinson's Disease (PD) patients. The IPA is managed and operated by volunteers, most of whom are PD patients, family members, or concerned friends - all working together to make life easier for PD patients.
Our mission is to provide information about Parkinson's Disease, serve as a forum for questions and answers, and offer support to patients and family members.
The IPA has more than 10 branches throughout Israel, offering pertinent lectures, excersice classes and support groups. It also organizes annual professional seminars to keep patients and family members up to date with the latest scientific developments with regard to PD, meet people in similar circumstances, and spend a few days away from home.
The IPA is backed by a Medical Advisory Committee composed of internationally-renowned neurologists.
Additional professional advice is given online, by lawyers, nutritionists, psychologists, etc.
In 2002, the IPA was awarded the President's Volunteer Service Award for its outstanding services to the PD community.
