The Professional Code of Ethics of the Parkinson's Association in Israel
The code was written in light of the association's values, and reflects the way in which each and every member of the community should act. The code is a collection of expectations for mutual behavior. It was written by members of the association's management and executive committee, with the participation of representatives of those dealing with Parkinson's disease, volunteers, employees and those with expertise and experience in the field, and while learning from similar associations.
The Parkinson's in Israel Association is a non-profit organization that aims to help Parkinson's sufferers and their families cope with the challenges of the disease and achieve optimal quality of life, while operating in four main dimensions:
- Connecting contestants to a supportive and supportive community
- Psychological assistance in workshops and support groups for candidates and family members
- Assistance with physical activity habits according to the contestant's personal needs
- Professional and accessible equal medicine in the periphery as in the center of the country
The association focuses on instilling habits of continuous physical activity that are so essential for delaying the deterioration of the disease by encouraging participants to participate in a wide variety of physical and social activities at the association's branches spread across the country, while making the activities accessible to the entire population in a fair and equitable manner through physical and digital channels.
The Code of Ethics is based on these fundamental principles:
- The freedom to choose how and from whom to receive treatment
- Moral values, integrity, fairness, regardless of gender, race, or faith
- Emphasis on volunteering, fundraising, and mutual aid
- Respect for human rights, acceptance of others
- The fundamental freedoms of upholding the law and tolerance in human relations
The code of ethics is not a list of laws or rules, nor is there a set of regulations and guidelines on how to uphold it and how to keep it in compliance. The code is a collection of expectations for mutual behavior.Publishing and distributing a code of ethics, and our desire for proper management, transparency as a kind of direction, and our hope to assist and support all Parkinson's sufferers in Israel to help, be helped, give and receive, respect and be respected.
The values by which the Parkinson's Association strives to conduct its activities:
Purity of character – Honesty, integrity, humility.
Values in the community – Human dignity, equality, social justice, loyalty to the community, apoliticality, information sharing, service, openness.
professionalism – Efficiency, innovation, relevance, restraint of power, excellence, teamwork, responsibility, reporting, transparency.
The above principles and core values – hereinafter referred to together as the “Association Principles” – reflect the way in which each and every member of the community should act.
