Dysphagia = swallowing disorder

This disorder may appear:

In an initial form in Parkinson's disease - due to actual damage to the swallowing muscles
In a secondary way - as a result of entering the "OFF" mode, where there is no general function of the body (including swallowing).
This is a life-threatening and well-known disorder in this disease.

It is necessary to arrange for an immediate diagnosis by a speech therapist specializing in swallowing, who will check the level of the existing disorder and the limitations required in order to preserve the patient's life.

Later, you should contact a dietitian who specializes in swallowing in order to organize your eating in a way that meets the limitations in swallowing and still maintains a normal nutritional status.
