Milbat provides advice, training and information on adapting technology to the special needs of the disabled community and their environment. Milbat centers a lot of detailed information about suppliers of equipment and accessories for the disabled, where you can get any accessory you can think of.

People with disabilities can try a wide variety of accessories and find those that will help them function more independently in everyday life. The information, advice and guidance are in all areas of day-to-day functioning for children and family members, professionals and caregivers. In cases where a commercial solution does not exist, volunteers who are experts in the technical field develop free of charge special accessories customized for the home or for the educational or therapeutic setting.

Consultation:

Providing advice in the following areas:

  1. Personal consultation provided by a multi-professional team to choose a suitable accessory.
  2. Transportation: adjusting access roads and solving transportation problems.
  3. Tourism: information on accessible places for vacations and trips and route planning.
  4. Problem solving: a team of volunteers with an engineering-technological background provides specific solutions to problems for which off-the-shelf solutions have not been found and builds accessories that meet unique needs.

library:

A professional library of books, periodicals and video tapes related to equipment for the disabled.

  1. Reliable and up-to-date information on where to get the accessory: purchase, loan, second-hand and entitlements.
  2. Board for sale and purchase of second hand accessories. There is no charge.
  3. A computerized database that is in constant contact with information centers in the world.

Lectures, conferences, seminars:

Unique training programs to deepen and expand knowledge in the field of assistive technology for: professionals and students from the field of health, welfare education, design and tourism, people with disabilities, their family members and caregivers, teenagers in schools - to encourage creative technological thinking and bring them closer to the world of people with disabilities. The programs are customized according to the needs of the ordering body and are delivered by Milbat's team of rehabilitation experts and guest lecturers, and include lectures, demonstrations, activity experience stations, accessories and videos.

  1. The MML project - a mobile game center for children with special needs, comes voluntarily to kindergartens, schools and medical centers.
  2. "Special melody" project - unique adaptations for musical instruments for children and adults with physical disabilities. The goal of the project is to develop unique personal adaptations for musical instruments that allow people with disabilities to play, enjoy and express their talent.

Target Audience:

Children, adults and the elderly with physical disabilities, who wish to play in a group or individual setting; Kindergartens and special education schools; music classes for people with disabilities; rehabilitation centers; the houses of the warrior; Various institutions and day centers for the elderly all over the country.

A Milbat professional consultant meets with the person and performs an initial assessment to characterize the limitation that does not allow him to play the instrument of his choice. Later, a technical expert volunteering at Milbat visits the person's home or the institutional setting in which he is located and develops the solution especially for him on a completely voluntary basis the technology that suits him.

"Work with dignity" project - integrating people with disabilities into the workplace by adjusting their work positions by developing unique accessories. The purpose of the project is to provide personal advice for finding the appropriate technological solutions to fulfill the work requirements, according to the physical and/or cognitive limitations of the disabled employee , and developing special aids on the spot, customized for that person.

The target audience: students with disabilities in special education schools who work in work workshops, in the schools, which are used as preparation for going to work, as well as people of working age with severe physical limitations as a result of diseases, hostile attacks, Israeli wars or accidents.
