Property tax discount - local authority

Recipients of a general disability allowance with a degree of incapacity of 75% or higher are entitled to a discount on property taxes. Eligibility is also relevant to those who have reached retirement age and previously received a general disability pension with a degree of permanent incapacity of 75% or higher (if they are not entitled to a higher rate of property tax discount as recipients of a senior citizen's pension with disability supplement). The local authority may establish income tests to confirm eligibility for the discount. Those whose eligibility has been confirmed may receive a retroactive discount, in accordance with the rules established in each authority.

The right grants a discount of up to 80% to recipients of a full disability allowance (75% and above)
You must contact the local authority with the approval of the National Insurance for entitlement to a general disability allowance.
