ProDuodopa Subcutaneous Pump
The Parkinson's Association in Israel worked to include pro-dopa treatments within the framework of the state insurance basket, and thanks to its activity with the Health Basket Committee, we were able to fully include the treatment for all candidates in Israel who choose to be treated with a pump.
We will continue to work towards more drug treatments in the health basket that will help improve the quality of life of those affected and make additional activities available for preserving abilities and rehabilitation.
- Prodevodopa is intended for the treatment of Parkinson's disease in an advanced stage, which responds to treatment with levodopa, accompanied by severe motor fluctuations and hypermobility, or involuntary movement disorders, when existing combinations of medical preparations for the treatment of Parkinson's were not effective.
- This is the first treatment of its kind in the world, allowing for 24-hour subcutaneous infusion of levodopa (a dopamine derivative that is considered the flagship treatment for Parkinson's), without the need for surgery. The treatment has been proven to be effective and safe.
