During the day of the conference, there will be two workshop complexes that include practice and learning on a variety of topics.
10:30-11:15
Move like a tiger - imagination, movement and awareness workshop
The workshop will be held standing.
When was the last time you walked like a tiger in the African jungle? This movement workshop will combine imagination, dance and expression through body parts. With the help of rhythmic music we will imitate animal movements, we will practice different movements and walks in space as animals, we will express different emotions inwardly and outwardly and we will awaken a new and liberating energy for movement.
Facilitator: Yuval Levitan-Marchos, physiotherapist in charge of the Sheba Institute for Movement Disorders
Dancing and drumming to the rhythm of the body
The workshop will take place sitting and standing (dance).
An experiential workshop where each participant receives a drum and joins an active rhythm circle. With the help of the drum, as a therapeutic tool, we will build a common and continuous rhythm in which we will hear and feel the heartbeat and feel the touch of the palm on top of the stretched drum. Later, we will move to the professional drumming sounds of Omri Lapidot with an emphasis on speed changes and the intensification of spontaneous movement.
Facilitators: Omri Lapidot - drumming workshops, Roni Peled - Movement Therapist - MA Movement Disorders Unit, Tel Aviv Medical Center
11:30-12:15
The importance of touch
The workshop focuses on the importance of touch for physical and mental health, from birth to old age. Touch has the potential to reduce anxiety and pain, improve sleep and calmness, and strengthen the immune system.
The topic is also very relevant for you, women and men living with Parkinson's. The burden and challenges associated with the disease often create social-physical distance. The essential touch for your health has disappeared.|But - it is important to emphasize - that the right to touch and enjoy is also your right: contestants and their partners.
It is true that organization and patience, open communication and personal conversations are required, but the investment is worthwhile.
Facilitator: Gila Brunner, certified sexologist, senior consultant and mentor, sexual therapy clinic, Lis Hospital, Tel Aviv Medical Center
Rock Studio Boxing
The workshop will be held sitting or standing, depending on the needs of the participant.
Rock Study Boxing is an American training method that was developed in 2006 and is attended by over 40,000 people with Parkinson's around the world. In the workshop, we will learn basic boxing moves, work on balance, strength and coordination and all in a fun and joyful atmosphere!
Facilitators: Avitar Rothgoltz - fitness trainer, certified by the RSB World Organization for RSB training, Eileen Spark Greenberg - social worker and fitness trainer, certified by the RSB World Organization for RSB training.
12:30-13:15
Effective movement
The workshop will be held in wheelchairs, sitting and standing.
Let's try the "effective movement" method - therapeutic dance in a variety of styles specially adapted for women and men in wheelchairs, those who are assisted and also for active contestants - together we will expand ranges of movement, improve coordination, balance the balance and lift the mood!
Moderator: Orli Sela, one of the pioneers of dancing with Parkinson's people in Israel, who has been involved in the field in Israel and around the world for many years.
Dance with mitochondria
The workshop will take place in a combination of sitting, standing and lying down.
Mitochondria are the power stations of our body cells, and in Parkinson's patients these stations work less well. Mitochondria are in constant motion, and this motion is essential for their normal activity. In the workshop we will practice improvisation together in movement while watching films showing the live movement of mitochondria under the microscope. Maybe in this way we will be able to improve the movement/activity of our energy producers?
Facilitators: Michael Lebbe - an expert in movement improvisation, Prof. Eitan Gross - Weizmann Institute of Science - an expert in mitochondrial biology, a Parkinson's survivor and loves to dance
graduation ceremony - Plenary Hall A
13:30-14:00 Isato Beatbox show
An immersive vocal performance, with audience participation.
Isato is a vocal virtuoso, an international beatbox artist, who demonstrates in a show abilities that take the potential of the human voice to the limit. Beatbox is an art of creating the sounds of musical instruments using the human voice (drums, accordion, bass, electric guitar, trumpet and more). Together with the audience he will create sounds and rhythms that will jump the body and uplift the soul.
Isato is a main actor in the "Waka People" show, a network creator, and a partner in the Beatalk method (Beatalk.com).
